Twisters, written by Mark L. Smith (The Boys in the Boat) and directed by Denver, Colorado, native Lee Isaac Chung based on a story by Joseph Kosinski, who directed the Top Gun sequel, lacks the momentum of the thrilling and emotional 1996 Jan De Bont original, Twister. I saw it in a movie theater where it belongs. I think it has fewer tornado scenes than the original. In certain respects, it surpasses the original.
