You raise many interesting points. I would have made a different choice for Man of the Year from your list which I thought was well thought out but I would add two potential candidates, Robert F Kennedy Jr and Tulsi Gabbard. (For the latter, I assume 'MOTY' can be generic/gender neutral :).) While I have differences with them, I add them to the list because it seemed to me that when they were still Democrats, they had outbreaks of thinking for themselves which led to them breaking with the Democratic party. (In my view, RFKJr was particularly badly treated.) The reason that I praise them a bit for doing so is that I think some people noticed that and learned something about the left and the Democrats as a result; that is, the left/Democrats have sunk into a moral and intellectual muck in which they literally tolerate no dissent, no disagreement, in their quest for absolute power. Feel free to disagree and I wish you and yours happy holidays.

Thank you, Doug.

I’m impressed by how Kennedy handled his limited, qualified Trump endorsement—he made a clear, reasonable case for his position—and, though I vehemently disagree with his philosophy, I agree that he was poorly and wrongly treated by his party. I don’t know her philosophy as well and I recall some serious problems with the former congresswoman. I’ll be following the confirmation hearing process with interest.

That said, these are not my favorite Trump appointments—I like his Energy and Commerce choices better—and I don’t think they meet my MOTY (last year, I chose a woman) criteria. I appreciate your thoughts, well wishes and feedback. Cheers to happy holidays and better days.

Yes. I will look forward to all the confirmation hearings which I think will be volatile but in a good cause. I admit I don't know about Tulsi G's career in Congress. I also admit that I don't know much about many of his other nominees. I do like Trump's position on oil and gas so I think I can assume I'll like his energy nominee.
