Built into the Sonoran desert in sight of the mountains, the Hilton-branded El Conquistador provides an idyllic atmosphere in Tucson, Arizona. The resort, which I discovered during a recent road trip stop, offers standard resort amenities.

Southern Arizona’s Catalina Mountains are the backdrop

At the base of what’s known as Pusch Ridge, landscaped grounds include a hot tub and swimming pool. Access to an adult-only spa pool, salt therapy lounge and steam room is included with any spa treatment. A fine dining restaurant features outdoor seating. There’s also a lobby lounge with TVs at the bar for sports and a quick serve Starbucks cafe. Staff are not officious. Generally, Arizona is more relaxed than other states. Rules and hours of operation are relatively reasonable and I was able to enjoy a moonlight dip in the hot tub under the stars with an alcoholic beverage. This is an expansive and tranquil place to unwind in peace.
