Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is a mediocre, Star Wars-driven experience

Mine was a short visit to Walt Disney’s second theme park, Walt Disney World, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

My first visit took place when I was a boy a few years after the park opened in central Florida. It was a wonderful and memorable family visit to the Magic Kingdom. I have visited several times since. This fall, I went for a day to Disney World’s Hollywood-themed park, Hollywood Studios (formerly known as Disney-MGM Studios). The online ticket purchasing process was unnecessarily complicated. Masks are required at all indoor locations inside the park which, in Orlando, Florida’s humidity, poses an inconvenience at best.

Amid both rain and sunshine, the place was crowded and a wait to ride on the newest attraction — a newer, Star Wars-themed attraction — was two hours. Finding healthy food options was a challenge.
