Netflix’s Hushed Push for the Top Oscar
Publicity goes still for a version of Remarque’s “All Quiet on the Western Front”
Since I watched 1930’s Oscar-winning Best Picture, All Quiet on the Western Front, which was powerful, seeing Netflix’s adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque’s 1928 novel has been on my wish list. For months, I wanted to see All Quiet, as it’s referred to in the entertainment industry press. I’ve since lost interest, though I think this movie may win Best Picture at this Sunday’s 95th Academy Awards.
