Analysis: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s address to the U.S. military
Recently, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, whose nomination I opposed because his religionism in war and military policy is fundamentally unconstitutional and anti-American, addressed U.S. military officers in Virginia (read a transcript of Secretary Hegseth’s speech here).
In essence, I think the speech is excellent and could prove to be a major improvement to U.S. foreign and military war and defense preparedness. I express criticism, too.
I’ve included my commentary in between the excerpted quotations below. Please note that an ellipsis indicates a break in the copy.
Secretary Hegseth said:
[E]ither we’re ready to win [a war if it comes to that] or we are not…

Personnel is policy…
Hegseth repeated this claim throughout his speech and he’s right. Using the term personnel, as against human resources, may be a sign of progress in a distinctly conceptual correction.
