Of all the recent high-profile deaths, including deaths of 99 year-old Betty White and 92 year-old Sidney Poitier, the loss of Mr. Bogdanovich at age 82 makes me saddest. Besides motion pictures in which he starred or directed, produced, shaped or created, his passion for storytelling and history will be sorely missed. Peter Bogdanovich, whom I once had the pleasure to meet at an event sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, was a rare individual.
