Penn State’s running back scored for the Pittsburgh Steelers during their heyday
Franco Harris died yesterday. He had been scheduled to attend the football game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Eve. The Steelers, the team for which he played for many seasons as a fullback or running back, had announced they would retire his number on December 24th. Harris, a legendary athlete in Pittsburgh, was 72. His cause of death has not been disclosed.
