A prototype 747 was first displayed in public on September 30, 1968

Amid a flurry of publicity, Seattle, Washington-based Boeing Company announced that the last 747 airplane was delivered this afternoon. The aircraft’s first client, the now-defunct Pan Am, debuted the double-aisle airplane in 1970. Atlas Air is the 747’s final client airline. This is a remembrance of my travel on this historic passenger jet.
